APHA Paint Alternative Competition (PAC) program for
BC Paint Horse owners
Your community probably offers plenty of competitive events for horses and riders: all breed and community club shows, 4-H shows, team penning events, roping events, horse trials, and other activities that fall outside the category of "APHA-approved.” Even though APHA is not officially associated with these events, the association does want to recognize your efforts on your Paint Horse — and so do we!
The APHA Paint Alternative Competition (PAC) program recognizes your accomplishments by recording PAC “credits” on your Paint Horse's official lifetime performance record.
Show organizers no longer need to register with APHA to have their event approved! That means you can collect PAC credits at just about every show, providing they hold on to their show results for at least one year!
You must be an APHA member in order to participate in the PAC program but you don’t need to own the registered Paint Horse you are showing in order to compete. You can enroll for PAC online or by mail. Then, print the Exhibitor Report forms (at right) to take with you to your competition. Be sure to have the entry secretary sign off on your results before you leave the show, and then fax, email or mail them to APHA within 30 days. It’s that simple!
We are pleased there are many opportunities for BC Paint Horse owners to participate in APHA's PAC program! Sign up for our Open Show & Competition Program, too, and be eligible for awesome year end awards and be sure to share your successes with us. If you or your local club or show organization has any questions, we’d be happy to help answer them! Good luck!
