Horse Shows and
Point Programs
The B.C. Paint Horse Club celebrates the breed of horse
that is nearest and dearest to our hearts - the
American Paint Horse. Our goal is to see our Club
grow, not only in numbers, but in our ability to help
the BCPHC membership develop and support activities and
programs that will benefit "Paints" all over British
Columbia.

The BCPHC "Open Show &
Competition Program" (OSCP)
This program is available
to any BCPHC Member showing a registered Paint Horse in
almost any Western or English Class as well as competing in
events like barrels, roping, cattle, jumping,
dressage, and other approved events at Open Shows and
Competitions (including out-of-province events).
"Open Shows" include
organized competitions at
local riding Clubs and Stables as well as "Open" classes
at Breed Shows. Please note that in order to qualify for
the Program, the competition must keep records and
have a Show Organizer or Secretary who can verify
results. There are a total of seven categories to
compete in:
1. In Hand Division
2. English Division
3. Western Division
4. Performance Division
5. Youth Division - 18 years or younger
6. Amateur Division - 19 years and older
7. Open Division - for professionals.

The BCPHC "Free Trophy Program"
Our "Free Trophy Program"
is offered to Horse Clubs and Show Organizers in
British Columbia who are reasonably sure there will have
at least two APHA registered horses at their competition
(and the Paint Horse competitors don't even have to be BCPHC Members).
A trophy (or prize) is
provided for the high-point Paint Horse exhibitor at the
subscribing event, or you could choose to save the
trophy/prize as a year-end award for the top placing
registered Paint Horse.
Prizes are allocated on a
first-come basis and, as there are a limited number of
prizes available each year, interested organizations
should contact Colleen Schellenberg for details
and availability.

APHA "Paint Alternative
Competition"
It's impossible for the
APHA to be officially associated with every event but
they still want to be able to recognize your efforts on
your American Paint Horse. As a result, your
accomplishments can be recorded on your registered
horse's official lifetime performance record through the
"PAC" program (Paint Alternative Competition).
PAC is open to almost any
type of activity as long as the competition is sponsored
by an organization that keeps official records for up to
one year, and must have a representative who agrees to
verify and sign your PAC entry form.
Although APHC membership
is not required to enroll in PAC, you must be a member
to receive any awards from the Association, and you
don't have to own the horse you compete on but annual
enrollment of the horse in PAC is required.
Click
here to learn more about PAC from the APHA
website.
